I attended a Civil War re-enactment at the Fairfield County Fairgrounds in Lancaster, Ohio, on July 22 and 23, 2000. I was unable to get close enough to the battle for good photographs and the background presented by the fairgrounds--most notably the white fence inside the race track--spoiled photos of the whole scene, so I concentrated on close-up candid portraits of the re-enacters and close-ups of the camps and equipment.
